The creative encounter between musicians from different backgrounds and training creates an Italian ethnic music rooted in the character rhythmic and passionate, to the lands of the South, and pinched, the tammurriate, the work songs of struggle and drawn to the rich oral tradition of the South form the musical ground that motivates the steps CantoAntico, whose research is open to other stories sound similar and territories. Comes a new musical language, evocative of ancient sounds and arrangements made in unusual journey through the Mediterranean peoples. Tradition inspires new expressions, the memory flows and intertwines with the present.

CantoAntico movements is their detailed project developed over more than ten years in the wake of the activities of Roghalida, an association of research and production on Mediterranean cultures. The shared principle is the value of traditional music and dance as a founding of new forms of cultural production and aggregation underground: the city is rediscovering itself as the universe of the tarantella, with critical attention to the processes of re-functionalization of dance and popular music. CAM produces concerts, events, courses and seminars and promotes artistic exchange between musicians respectful of tradition and open to experimenting and supports international solidarity projects working with artists, associations and organizations that share commitment and social and cultural purposes.

of
SCHOOL TARANTELLA Montemaranese

TARANTELLA Montemaranese The school does not want to be a means to encode strictly a folk ritual, but a means to learn this beautiful dance. It would be impossible to explain the energy released during the carnival Montemarano or during a wonderful lunch with friends in which spontaneously appears "you". The rhythm of the drum with you, the accordion that envelops you like a gust of hot wind, the clarinet almost despair takes hold of your negative thoughts and positive returns them to you, that clarinet that drags you to essential part of making you dance it . "The music has a driving rhythm, with alternate characters. The theme is constantly repeated. Do you have, your body is forced to move, "writes Hetty Paerl. It would be impossible explain how it feels to dance while you go for "short end" when your body no longer exists, but you are pure energy dance. It would be impossible to explain the joke of "'Ndoni in history", "pescialotto", "ngilillo" and others. These are the emotions he wants to understand the "School Montemaranese Tarantella," the head of which there are our teachers, "Olympia", "Ndonetta", "Chilina", "Menelli," we are riding in this magnificent journey . Their stories, their emotions, their feelings are always accompanied by a 'unique soundtrack: "The Tarantella of Montemarano. We traveled with them over time, we heard the story of "Mbrusino" of "Minico and Gianninino, who were their fathers, their healthy carriers of emotions. Thanks to the experience of our teachers, were trained teachers and dancers who drive in a precise and punctual each course that provides a theoretical and a practical knowledge including both historical dance. An infinitesimal representation of what is the ritual of Carnival in Montemarano, where the Tarantella accompanies masked with a rhythm that you have and prompts the body to let go and create a strong link with the past. Infinitesimal since the emotions you feel in the context of the carnival ...

TERRE TUMARE

° ° °
Tumara Salento is a word that indicates a soil rich in thyme, medicinal and aromatic spice typical of the Mediterranean and southern Italy. In the name Terre Tumare glimpse the presence of the sea that washes the Adriatic coast and places of origin from which they are the four components of this musical education, from low to high Salento Murgia. For the people of Puglia, the sea has always been the danger, escape, salvation, the arrival and departure. Death and life. Life and death. And each time, from life to death, these people sang and played to accompany the work, the hopes of love, quarrels, funeral rites and festive occasions. Anna Cinzia Villani, Massimiliano Morabito, David Durante and Gianni Conte Miro Gelao bring together years of experience, knowledge of vocal techniques and equipment acquired in attendance of master singers and musicians and the ability to reinvent itself, to provide modern languages with ancient musical grammars tradition. I pinch-pizziche tarantella and keep the fighting spirit of the art 'bellows' breathing organ and tambourine dance, Wind guitar and mellow singing peasant sour, bitter, sharp and loud without affecting the intensity.

The dance of "pinch-pinch" with ANNA CINZIA VILLANI

The pinch-pinch is certainly the most known traditional local architecture and among the dances of the south that mainly attracts the attention of fans throughout Italy.
Like all popular culture, music, and hence to dance, were the responsibility of the social well-defined but today are almost entirely ignored. The current life away from the fact which has the lifestyle and mentality of archaic societies. E 'deep understanding of the rural world that is based on preparation of Anna Cinzia Villani which is then able to reconstruct the habits of rural civilization in relation to the music passing through the phenomenon of Taranto, the ritual of dance and teaching-fencing of steps of the pinch-pinch.
The stage consists of the following parts:
1) Description of the social and cultural context in which this dance is performed until a few decades ago and the distinction of three modes of dance punctuated by the same rate but with different functions:
pinch Pinch (playful dance of the couple)
Pinch tarantata (music therapy against the bite of the tarantula)
Pinch fencing (mime duel between two contestants) ..
2) Learning of the easiest steps with the help of original music and revived.
3) Dance with a friend: all participants will dance one at a time with the teacher.
4) Mention the concept of the "de Mesciu ballu" (who controlled the ball) learning more complex steps, use of the handkerchief.
5) Dance Torque: Participants will dance with each other by practicing the steps.
6) During the internship can be watching movies on the three-way pinch pinch.

CAUTION STAGE ORGANETTO POSTPONED until a later date!
the organ in the high and low Salento MASSIMILIANO MORABITO

The workshop starts off by listening to the old organ-grinder of the Southern Center Puglia (Salento in southern Italy from the Lower Murgia ) to continue with the study and performance of some examples pinch pinch. The seminar is aimed at both beginners and advanced organettisti (not essential but is desirable to have a key organ in G / C). You will learn techniques like countered with two and three fingers, to bruise the blooms, accompanied with the bass and singing. The course will also analyze the different ways of looking at the posture: the position of the instrument, the use of left and right hands, the use of bellows. Traditionally, the organ could be learned and passed down by ear, without the mediation of musical notation. For this reason, the seminar will be a key acquisition of the concept of "melody" at the base of the oral tradition of music all over South Italy.

His experience artistic growth through a challenging course characterized by the investigation in the field of oral sources, from study of repertoire, from the sounds of musical research and the search for a personal musical style in which the invention of sound, drawing on the culture of oral tradition of Abruzzo, amplifies the colorings, the phrasing and rhythms. The ethnomusicologist Carlos Silvestre

These encompass the diversity of their shapes, styles, content, sounds and rhythms, the euro-Mediterranean calling at oral cultures over the centuries in Abruzzo. I BEDDA
Sicilian music in the traditional manner

Voices of peoples, echoes of people, sounds like ripe fruit crops in the fields of Sicily. Authoritative voices of ordinary people. Voices, resonant with the visions of Sicily still little hectic for small countries, restricted communities, rural and seaside villages, islands in the island. Sounds that move between tradition and innovation, early music once passed down orally; verses replicated remodeled, rearranged for a modern audience that wants to know the people of this remote culture, that culture itself distorted by progress in recent decades that has developed to a thousand per hour. Cunti , ballads, sonnets, proverbs and found, or rather, found on collections of scholars, that blend with existing melodies composed by musicians of this group of Sicilian Doc

NEW CD

<... I Bedd are trained to listen to without taking anything for granted ...> writes so Amber Seba in his discourses on music and musicians published in one of the most interesting period Siciliani: The Storyteller . Musicians of Sicily are written in their manifestos, they are (and could not be more) players respectful of the culture. But respect does not prevent the group to innovate, modernize, realize the discourse on the Sicilian music. Quite the contrary. their proposal is innovative, current, ancient and modern at the same time, perhaps a result of for fun, surely played for the love of homeland. Continuously for years on tour the Bedd , Lazio back in October 16, 2010 to present their last record "Siciliazero" . Siciliazero is to start from scratch; Siciliazero is look back to understand the present; Siciliazero is an exploratory journey through the centuries; Siciliazero is a faithful observer; Siciliazero is a guide to the symbolic landscapes of the era modern; Siciliazero paraphrase is a common feeling. Bedd I interpret this feeling with a sincerity and spontaneity is not common, consciously put upside down what is now called the Sicilian new song to show the roots, trunk, branches so they can understand and explain the shapes and colors of the new fruits that emerge from modern leaves. Fruits sound of ringing marranzani beaten with sustainable innovation; of cane flutes, tambourines of elegant; of bagpipes evocative; of almonds and mandolins, trumpets, horns, Cianciana, guitars and chitarrine; harmonics, accordion, drums and tambourines, pianos and basses. Ripe fruits reminiscent of voices today, the past and the future.
